Parts tracking
Does any one know if it is possible to track parts through a VIN #? I had a set of tires and rims stolen for my 05 F250, but I don't have the actual serial number to give to the police. I know around where I live anything large like that is tracked by the police when it is sold to a pawn shop or any other business that buys used goods that are prone to theft. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know the VIN # will only be on certain things. I was hoping that maybe there was a way to find out if the VIN # could be used to track down the serial # off of the original part that was installed. In this case the rims.
