Installing a new stereo

How difficult is it to install an aftermarket AM/FM/CD in the dash of a nice old 76 F-100? It still has the old two shaft type stereo in it right now.

Thanks,

it aint too hard at all, the PO had a radio in there before i bought it so the dash was alredy cut right, for a constant hot i took the wire from the cigerette lighter and you just use the harness they give you and splice the wires together. it took about 15mins after finding out which wires went where.

I installed one in my 76. I cut the steel brace that holds the factory radio in and also supports the heater controls. I cut out a piece of aluminum from an old construction sign and cut it to fit the dash and the stereo. I painted it black to match and it doesnt look too bad. The only bad part is I have to take the 6 screws that hold the aluminum out and pull the stereo out to remove the instrument panel/bezel.

That's awesome FordPickup460, I have the same exact stereo in my highboy. You shop Walmart too! lol Actually, for a $100 stereo, it's pretty good.
