The TURBONATOR!!!!!

I was bored the other night at work and started searching around and came up with the turbonator and the other spinny thing that goes in your air box. If this is a repeat post I apoligize I didn't have time to go through all 137 pages. If anyone has one or has used one let me know I'm willing to try anything. My theory is you could stick a barn fan in the airbox and it isn't gonna do a thing unless you change the computer and all that happy stuff to allow the motor to suck more air and mix it properly to make a difference. your opinions please

Have you ever noticed that company's like this say that independent labs have tested their device but they never give any names or actual data from the test. After viewing their site I would say its a joke .

I'm willing to try anything. (really... well then you should read a lot of the last three years of great info right here on FTE)

OK try this send me the $29.99 and I will send you a coupon guaranteed to get you exactly the same amount of HP, MPG and economy of as turbonator! Seriously my card works, I had it tested at an independent lab and they want the secret to my little card so they can patent it and rip me off.

In fact if you subscribe to my "System" for $59.99 for a once in a life time fee. I will allow you the rights to reproduce and re-sell my card as long as you only sell in your area.

Ok Ok enough om my BS hyped up sales pitch.

Brother, the Turbonator works. It reduces the weight in your wallet by a few grams and thus the entire rolling weight of the truck is reduced yielding exactly 0.013 MPG higher fuel efficiency. Over a 168,000 mile average life expectancy this device will save you $31.45 in fuel and you will be well ahead of those of us that decide that the effort to unclamp the intake snorkel and install the stamped made in china turbonator was more trouble then it was worth.

In other words pass on this one it is all hype and snake oil.

put that money in a few 12 packs of what you like to toast with., that will work better on your head then that p.o.s. gimick will in your truck.

Fred, you're ignoring the weight of the device itself being added to the truck, so the MPG gain is really only .0065 ...

Since it somewhat restricts the air, and the MAF detects it, maybe it's not getting as much air/fuel, therefor increasing the MPG.

Oh, wait, maybe I'll just wax the darn thing, that'll probably help more

Thats the problem I need to take it out every other weekend and wax it. Dang and I thought it was broke. Good thing my MPG thingie only lets me know consumption to the 10th of a gallon...

No wait the weight differential! Oh crap, I forgot to weigh the turbonator before I put her in and did the math. You are right it weighs just slightly less then the cash.

Humm I wonder... IF I buy one with a credit card then the turbonator will add a few grams to the GCVW and I will loose .0137mpg

Damn it this is confusing...

Hey Any one need a used Turbonator? She is real clean and all broke in...I can give you a real good deal. Just $19.99 and of course the S&H fee (grin) yep you never wanna forget that good old S&H fee!

You're thinking too hard about what you don't know of...

The t-nator won't work because it's worthless.

That's all.

Also, make an effort and go through just one of those 137 pages you found. I guarantee that the first response would have claimed the t/nator to be a scam.

On the right side of this post is my join date, location, posts, and "signature". Not all these posts have all these elements up there but most do.

If you hover your mouse cursor over the "signature" some times (depending on web browser) you will see a drop down or pop up box with the members signature detail.

Many times if you get a weird or antagonistic response, it is informative to see what the signature says, location of the poster or other clues to help you understand their point of view.

Lots of personalities in here and very often a posting will tick some body off. Here on the web you can't get the nuances of humor, sarcasm, anger, or neutral because many of us are not good at conveying body language or voice tone in the written word.

Helps a lot to have a sense of humor and not let it get under your skin when ever some body is pulling your chain.

I know, I know! I am the last member to be dishing out this advice... I get baited all the time and frequently press the send key before stepping back and taking a few deep breaths... But I recognize this quirk in my personality and do try to respect my fellow FTE web friends. Some times I have to re-build a bridge that I burned to the pilings.

Back to the topic...

You had a great question, it gets asked about 4 or 5 times a year and it is good that we get the chance to expose some of the hyped up and snake oil products from time to time so the new members can benefit from some of our wisdom and knowledge.

But be ware... there ARE grumpy Old men in here that some days have no sense of humor and tend to post a strong message about posts on subjects that have been "beat to death" in this forum it is mostly OIL, or PSD vs V10 threads.. and of course you want to stay away from " A MANUAL is better then AUTOMATIC" topic (grin)

If you can't give your opinion on here (V10 forum) without getting a little flak from Fred, krewat or some of the other "troublemakers" then it just wouldn't be the V10 Forum.

When I sound mad I let it shine!

Enjoy the site and welcome aboard.

if it's input you want, you came to the right place. If it's sarcasm you want, you REALLY came to the right place.

But seriously, it wasn't the fact that you asked the question, it's the shoddy, low-life, low-rent, deadbeats who market products like these that steal money from unsuspecting, good hearted people that make most of us mad. So any vitriole was surely aimed towards the thieves who prey on people who buy worthless pices of trash like the Vortex, Turbonator, AirRaid, etc.

That being said, sure, we know EVERYTHING, so go ahead and ask, we know about it. If not, you'll get a hell of a convincing story at least
