reverse light switch?

Mil1ion, were te 73 and 78 different? Detroit Iron diagrams seem to show the 79 backup light on an automatic to be on the transmission housing. The neutral switch looks to be on the column. I've got to repair mine as well. Just ane to make sure I know where it is before I go whacking around on the wiring system

Dave, In 1978 the NSS was moved to the side of the tranny on the automatic.

Chances are it is just filthy dirty.
Clean it out using these in this order: Varsol, Lacquer thinner,electrical cleaner.
Make sure it is adjusted properly as this is another reason most of them don't work.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeet. Now I can put off changing out the blinker contact plate on the column for another ten years. :-) The tranny is easier to get to.
