Instrument clusters and bezels are frequently sold on eBay listing them as 1980-86 as though all years were the same other than the bezel finish. Not exactly true. I do know that the circuit board on the cluster in 1980 is not the same as later years, and on my 1980 F350 4x4, the directional signal arrows are just to the right and left of the high beam pane in the bezel, but later years place the arrows in the next to last positions on each side. Now I'm working on a walnut finish bezel part number E0TB-10045C90-D - should be a 1980 part number - and the arrows are in the next to last panes on the bezel.
Is my Norfolk Assembled 1980 F350 4x4 400 auto with the directional signal arrows just to the right and left of the high beam pane unusual or what? I haven't pulled my bezel to check the part number but I assume it won't be E0TB-10045C90-D.
My '83 F350 turn indicators are in panels 2 & 6. I've been told that '80's and some early '81's had the other version. I'm pretty sure you can make a later cluster work in place of an early version by swapping around some wires in the plug that mates with the cluster printed wiring. Somewhere in one of this forums' posts someone mentioned swapping the little colored plastic inserts to gain the correct functionality.
