Anybody out there replaced the oil sender on an '01 4.2l?
I can see it, but it looks like it will be a son-of-a-gun to get at. Any recommendations on how to attack this? What should I remove and what should I leave and work around? Also looks like I may need a special socket (extra deep) to get to the hex?
Just wondering...how did you get at the switch? Its impossible to see from above the engine and not much better from below. Are you saying that you didn't have to remove anything else to get at it?
hi, nothing at all to remove, just the wire to un-clip. the only time consuming part was to re-fit the new sender unit, making sure i did not cross thread it.
i can be seen from underneath and one third of a turn at a time with the ring spanner it will come out. a light will help.
