Stupid question about 'codes'
I see a lot of posts about things causing codes to appear. Some cause the check engine light to come on, some don't. Do you need some diagnostic tool to 'see' these codes?
Will dealers see these codes during any sort of routine service? And if yes, could it cause me any sort of problems?
I'm particularly interested in the possibility of codes if I disconnect my EGR. I haven't experienced any problems whatsoever with my truck, but am sort of leaning towards EGR disconnect.
btw. I have an 05, totally stock.
