Shackle Flip questions

First question it appears to me that you only flip the shackle closest to the back bumper. Why wouldnt someone flip both shackle's on each leaf? Also I noticed that the vehicles rear wheels seem to be farther foward than normal afterward, its this the case or am I just seeing things.

Each leaf has only one shackle... the one near the back bumper. There is nothing to flip on the front mount for the rear spring. Yes, the rear wheels do move toward the front of the truck after a shackle flip.

Would it be possible somehow to drop the front of the leaf so that the wheel remains even in the middle of the wheel well?

The amount it moves forward is minimal but the front can be dropped as well. See my shackle flip gallery for details: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=13227
