I was just curious, it doesn't really matter, all the Fabtech lifts I've run across have been solid. If you don't have already have one, you'll need a really big pitman arm puller. I think I finally found one big enough at the tool loan counter in Pep Boys. Trying to get the stock pitman arm off any other way will more than likely result in a broken steering box shaft. Also a high lb/ft torque wrench. The trac-bar bolts have to be torqued to around 370lb/ft if I remember correctly. Have fun. Post back with how it went, any advice on the install, and some pics.
COOL, Be sure to post pic's when you get set-up. I'm debating with myself over getting a 6" or 4" lift.
A thought...If you frequent an automatic carwash then you may want to think twice about a 6.
While I never like "autos" myself...I found a really good brushless that had a great reputation for keeping their stuff clean and not scratching...plus they had a great six month unlimitted (inside & out) plan... My old truck with a 4" went through almost everyday. Got my new ride went to 6 and forget it... it just misses...since then I've checked most carwashes I see, even ones I would not use and they almost all have the same height limits.
I really want the 6" but I'm afraid my tires won't look big enough, then Ill have to re-open that can of worms.
Have you gone through the Lift Kit thread. BFR250SD did a great job posting an assortment of trucks with different lift/tire combo's. It might help you get a feel for what your truck will look like. Personally, I'd go with the 6" lift if your even considering it.
Nice thread by "BFR250SD", I read it awhile back before it got so big, anyway.... I think my tax returns got 6" written all over it. But we'll see thanks for the input.
