yet another problem

well i have notice teh temp gauge will be normal then it climbs real fast to the other side of normal (not hot) then it is there 1 to 2 sec, then it drops back down to where it was the more you drive it the more it does this more frequant, and the heat inside is not that warm, has anyone had this problem?

it runs real good and drives great i just got back to NC this morning i flew in to philly picked it up and drove it back early this morning. no problems other then heat and the temp gauge

What model Explorer?

I'd suspect a faulty thermostat. They are cheap and easy to change. If that dosen't fix it, then change out the temp sender. I'll bet it's the thermostat, though.

just bought it yesturday and tonight the radiator just busted, so who makes a metal radiator for these trucks i hate plastic. that is a dumb *** design

You may have a bad head gasket. Check your oil, too late to smell coolant I guess, rats, bad timing here your earlier symptoms also pointed to low coolant level.
