I'm not having any transmission issues yet, but with the 4R100, you know, a question of when not if.......Just looking for feedback for the eventual day.
Anyone have experience or knowledge of the performace of the ATS build? They look like they are a couple hundred more than Brians.
When that day comes, I would love to get a BTS but with shipping to CO and installation the $ add up. ATS is just 70 miles down the road from me and even with a total blowout, I could tow it down with the 1/2 ton.
Shoot if I lived THAT close to ATS - heck yea I wouldn't be afraid to go with them! I think BTS is just a more popular name, but I can't say that I have really heard anything BAD about ATS. I'd say go for it as long as they have some kind of warranty backing their piece up
i dont have experience with them but i have read alot of good things from people that have them. i am in the same boat as you, i live about 20 min. from them and when my trans goes i'll be getting one as well.
ATS has a very strong following in the race/truck pull crowd of diesel owners. Im talking the hard core, twin turbo...super diesel guys that think 1200 ft/lb and 700 HP are what beginers have.....ATS is a heavy duty unit. BTS has a similar following. So your about as good with one as you are with the other. Some heavy hitters run both, your talking the two companies at the top of the food chain there my friend.
Thanks for the insight guys..good info....... How about their warrenty and customer service? I have only heard great stories about Brian's and some where he even took care of problems after his warrenty period ran out.
Similar experiances are found from ATS customers. ATS is not a super huge company with 100,000 tranny sales a month...so they are smaller...just as is BTS. Both of these companies know that they are selling to enthusiasts and racers...and both companies are very well known for backing thier product and thier users very well. I think its a flip of the coin between the two. If my tranny dropped dead today, I guess I would call a dealer for each one and see my cost shipped...and make the choice from the $$$ standpoint, only because in this application your buying a great product one way or the other. Thats my opinion, others may vary :]
