Wink it been two yrs now and checking in. here my three trucks

1) last week, i traded a 1987 Buick estate wagon for this 1974 F250 camper special.THIS TRUCK WAS ON THE WRECKER TO BE SCRAPED.

I needed parts for my 1978 F350 dump truck, so I stop by and ask if I could have doors/fenders/hood. we talked, while I check the truck out. he told me. it was suppose to go to a buyer he had but the buyer backed. I asked about the parts and the scraper said as long as you fill the bed with replacement iron/steel. then i asked about just swapping my car for the complete truck. the Buick had turned in to a nightmare for me . first the olds power 307 broke a rod and crank. then after swapping in 350/ 700-4R from 1987 caprice. I found out just how stupid GM was . on the 307, the a/c and alt where on opposite side’s of the 350 . none of the wiring harness from each car match any thing. so I didn’t have the heart to do that much work on a $400 GM wagon.after year of trying to sell it and you know with already having a ford 400 powered and mercury 460 powered wagon's. so we swapped.

this truck has 390-4V with C-6 , DANA 60 with 3.73. it has the ranger & camper special package, factory front and rear sway bars. white and green interior, to nice to be scraped in my book

I took it to work because it has 16.5 rims/tires...

we had 4- 16 inch mod wheel's that we took in on trade and couldn’t resell. I went to the pre-owned tire cage and found 3 cooper ATR and 1 cooper HT. we where slow at work and had the guys mount the cooper on the rims and install them on my truck . this looks better now.

i was unloading the truck and moving it to front of the therapy room. when I figure ,I would check and see what in the glove box?
i found this stuff

I found a ford plastic bag with the a owner manual, warranty facts booklet , 1974 consumer information on truck-camper loading plus a card for warranty card for the battery.

lot of option's on there?

this truck was sold at Raymond Ford inc at 1000 HWY 14A in Powell WY.

I also found registration's from 8/15/1974 and 1/15/1975 where the truck was belong to a Y-TEX corporation in Cody Wyoming. then there was a registration from 8/11/1975 for universal semen sales inc in great falls, Montana. I had to go back and talk with the guy I got it from.
he told me .that he got it from semen sales place. cool. guess I will have to talk to them because that would make me the 3rd owner on a truck that hauled animals around for there semen(stud) service.

http://www.yellowpages.com/great-fal...98?lid=7092598

the factory radiator was damage by the scraper and now is going to the repair shop.I don’t want to loose that one.
at first? I was wanting this truck for parts on the 78 but now knowing the history and it only have 128,000 miles. I'm putting her back on the road, so I can drive it back and forth to work. don't think i will not keep the semen sales on the doors.i'm married.

2)
this is my 1978 F350 factory DUMP truck.i only paid $900.00 for her. it only has 46,902 miles on her. she was bought new for the MSU Bozeman in 2/78. it was last used to haul a water tank around campus to water there trees. when I got it . you tell her life was not grand there ,from all the summer student driver's .
I pulled the 351M because it smoked and put in a built up 400. that I had sitting around. now it a fast Dump truck.i install new from brakes and rear shoe's/drums . i still need to find some straight door’s front fenders. so it don’t look so much like a beater.
later, I found out .the reason the 351 smoked .was from all the sitting and great care it got for the msu, there was 3 cylinder's , that the rings where stuck in the pistons. the block only has most of 0.002 tapper in the cylinders wall and still had the factory plastic timing chain gear on.

this is when i had 8,000 lbs of rock.you can also see, i installed a push bar on front to help move my toys.
the overload just starting to touch.

i made 11 hauls anywhere from 10,000 to 16,000 total weight .in two days, to fill in my drive wayaround the handy cap ramp .I had to do that after the city raised there road 9 inch’s when they installed new water/sewer pipes in the road.

3)
this is my 1995 F250 S/C .it 460/5speed and only 92,000 miles.i got it in 2001 with only 58,000 miles on it ..

that I use for towing a blue car trailer.

that’s my three trucks. it took me 12 yrs to get them and here I though I was a fox chassis type of guy

Nice stable of trucks there! Great save on the green one. My truck was an old farm truck when I got it with 112K on it. Two years later, it only has 120K. Finding these old trucks that original is rare. Good luck with them!

Great Falls maybe, with that many auto bays it has to be a "big city" Sears.

Nice save on the green/white rig. Great to see all the original factory documents in the glovebox, not too many people left that stuff in there, particularly in a company owned vehicle.

I'm kinda partial to the green and white combo, as dad's 74 is also those same colors, just a different pattern.

Good idea to save the original radiator, as it likely has twice the metal as a newer replacement would. They just don't build things like they used to.

here the up date.
I talk to the owner of the universal semen sales company. he was there sale rep for Y-TEX corporation and this was his company truck. when Y-TEX corporation wanted to sell the semen side of the company in 1975. he bought it and change the name to universal semen sales. this truck was part of the inventory in the sale of the company. then at some time, he took universal semen sales off the title and put his & daughter name on the title .
now in 2012 I’m the owner. even though the title shows 3 different names before me . I’m the second owner.

here what i been doing to it. welding up the extra hole

side tank done now to get to rear tank .

tanks are empty. washed out with purple power and water. hooked up my shop vac to the inlet of the gas tank and let vac run while I'm using a mig welder on the slugs to fill the hole. easy.

cant have luv for 16.5. when last year cooper/ Michelin/ Goodyear/Bridgestone stop making them. the only one still has some and there made by firestone. after the firestone& ford problem. there no way I will ever own a tire made by them.
with most city’s over 100 miles apart here. I want a tire size I can find in a small town, should I have problem. and 16.5 just not going be there.
