my brother has an 05 6.0 automatic 4x4 reg cab f250, and when he went underneath to check out the fuel filter assy and look for the water drain point, he couldnt find it. after checking the manual, and looking at the picture, he said it looks very much like the picture in the manual, but there is no drain valve where it is supposed to be. The only drain point on the unit he found was on the top ... and since water doesnt drain up, he doesnt know what thats for either.
dealer has thus far been useless in helping diagnose, but eventually i am sure that light will come on. any thoughts or similar problems? could this be the unit from a different vehicle that mounts differently, like a van or something?
I don't think Ford ever put a valve on the drain. It's just a plug with a 6 mm hex socket in it. Look in the Tech Folder for instructions on how tto draain it aand much other good information regarding these trucks.
