We are about ready to install a 460 with an edelbrock 460 performer R in my '77 f150. We plan to use a completely rebuilt FMX transmission and new matching torque converter simply because it is available. We do not know what the idle will be on the 460 with the performance parts. I have a C6, but I do not want to put it in yet because it needs a going over. I had to turn down the pilot on the FMX converter to fit the 460. I cannot find an aftermarket stall converter for the FMX. Just for discussion sake, Will the truck be "untransmissioned" with the FMX behind the 460? and will I have to stand on the brake at the stops? Also, would someone recommend a moderately priced set of headers for the above setup? Thanks..Ron
hey fuzz the fmx is ok but i would wait till i can get the c 6 ready much better trans all kinds of performance parts. as far as your idle if all youve done waschange the intake you wont have any problems with the idle. 650 rpm in neutral warm
