I need some help, please. I have a 300ci. underneth the carb is a long piece with hoses coming off,(vacuum tree)witch one is the power break booster hose. and a couple other hoses. I have a hose coming off of the tree and is disconnected I have no idea where it goes. it is at the far end Closer to the fender same end the power break boosters on, but oppisite side. I have a picture if I can figure out how to load it on here. Does any one have any idea what I am talking about? I can't load the picture sorry
It is a 1983. it's the small hose right across from the break booster hose. I seen it off the other day it was wet with gas. I figured this is why the truck seems to spit and sputter from a take off position.
I show 4 hoses coming off the tree.
One goes to the vacuum advance on the distributor.
One goes to the top of the air cleaner.....of the two nipples, it goes on the one facing the passenger side.
One goes to a fitting on the firewall, which ends up in the cab for the A/C Heat.
The last is the large one to the booster.
Thank you so much!!!! It was the one on the air filter. I seen a hose was off of that but I wasn't sure if that was it now I know. That hose wouldn't have caused my engine to spit and sputter from a pull out or slow down would it? It stalled once when I was slowing down but it fired right back up. To tell you the truth I only noticed the sputtering when it was warmed up.
No, I seriously doubt it. If you follow that line, it comes out of that little sensor and over to the valve that controls the entry of warm air into the air cleaner. It has more to do with optimal combustion to reduce emissions during warmup.
