Steering Wheel Squeak
I recently (3 weeks ago) replaced the turn signal switch on my '88 F-150. About 3 days ago I can hear the brushes squeaking when I turn the wheel. Did I need to put some electrical grease on the contacts before I put the wheel back on, or is there something else wrong?
Last summer I had to replace the link from the ignition switch (key) to the rod for the switch farther down the column. When I did this 2 "shims" fell out and I have no idea where they came from. They are about 1/8" wide, 1" long and about 1/32" thick. There is no differance in the steering wheel action with these shims missing.
