Quirky electrical problem 98 expy

This has been going on for a couple of years, but now seems more pronounced.. when you start the car up, the "door open" light on the dash and the interior lights sometimes stay on for a few minutes.

Eventually all is well.... not sure why this happens

Check the switch in the door jamb. If I recall correctly, there is a post in this forum that describes this problem in greater detail.

I had a the same problem, and from what I read in this forum is pretty common. Spraying a little WD-40 in the door latches on the doors which are where these switches are located usually takes care of the problem. Be sure to do all the doors including the rear hatch.

here, i thought it was electrical....

I agree with madsonp. I took my '98 to the local dealer and they told me to use WD-40 too and then close the door several times to make sure it gets all lubed up in the latches.
