Kyle, I'm thinkin about running Lakes on my '53, but everything I've seen is longer than what I'm looking for. I'm talking about the chrome pipe that runs down the side of the running board and then turns out. Is that the type your talking about? What length did you decide on and where did you buy them?

Yeah, I decided on 70 inch pipes, I was wnting them to come out under the front fender and end under the rear fender, but my inches comes out to something like 76 inches (So the may be a little short). here is where i got mine from
I have the shorty lake style dumps that are attached to the front running board bracket with a stainless band around the pipe and around the bracket. They end slightly outside the running board outer edge. The previous owner had external exhaust that was routed through the lower flange along the front side of the box and then up to the box rails, along the rails and a turn down tip at the rear of each box rail. Looked pretty cool, but I was always burning myself on the chrome pipes.
