Micro System ?

My question is will a radio be affected if it is turned on and off through out the day? I was just wondering because I bought my Philps Micro system in 2003. And I got a great deal on it $100 original price. I got it for 50 bucks. But I want to take care out it so I thought someone on here got give me information. Thanks!

If affected you mean wear out?

It could.

You bought it to enjoy it, so enjoy it.

Heck I was thinking a Micro Brewing System, what a disappointment!
Lick wounds and thoughts over a brew.

I kinda knew that fordguy101 was talking about a stereo system.

But a micro brew system AND a micro stereo system is also a good combo.

Hey, Beemer Nut, a good combo is a beer with a Jack Daniels or Wild Turkey chaser.

Yep. It's also a bit cold here in the city.

It's holding at 41 degrees @ 11:20, dang I sound like a cry baby vs them people up north where getting cold is 10 above. I got to get back to Pick-My-Nose I mean Pick-N-Pull tomorrow early to snag a cherry 67 aluminum grill and fender trim, spare parts for the 68. It's sad to see a 67, 70 and 72 Rangers getting stripped when worse looking trucks are on the street.

It's 42º here. Just last week we were at 75º.

Went to Baker Beach and caught some rays.

Rat now, I'm drinking an ice cold brew and it's cool outside.

Life is good.

Hey fordguy101, enjoy your micro system.

EDIT: Just went down to 37º. Time for another beer.

I got a question do Stereo systems lose there speaker quality when turned up to there limit????? Because my philps Micro system makes a crackling noise. But is that just the CD or what?? I love my stereo so much because it looks so modern. But I hope I didn't screw up by cranking it up.

From what I understand, if you have a low powered amp and turn up the volume, you can hurt the speakers because the amp is clipping.

Now that's what I heard.

I'm sure someone here from FTE could/will answer your question much better than I can.

I'd do a google on "amp clipping".

Here's one link that may shed some light.

Hope this helps.

I always thought that the bass boost was suppose to be used when playing at low volume levels.

I don't think it's a good idea to play it loud with the bass boost on.

That could damage the speakers. So I was told.

Bass requires alot of power.

Now JMHO.

Guess I will have to read the instruction manual.
