Has anyone had any trouble installing the hpx line? I have seen two different types one with 90 degree fittings and a different one with 45 degree. I bought a 90 degree from a local diesel shop and I'm havin hell getting it in. Any idea what I'm doing wrong. It is kind of hard for me to see and or wok on the truck very well because of the 6" lift and 37" tires. That could be my main problem. Any tips?
Is it SS or rubber hose? I just installed the SS line from ITP yesterday with no problems. Either way I can't imagine what problems you could be having. Is it too short, too long, or what?
The hose seems to be somewhat long. However I did buy it from a diesel shop here in Houston that is on this forum often. I don't want to mention names cause I don't badmouth anyone.
I was going to have one made at my hydraulic shop, but the more I read I decided to go with the SS line. I see how rubber HYD. lines fail on a regular basis and figured why not pay the extra few buck for security.
Maybe not the lines fault I just have a hard time getting my *** up there to work on it. Not very comfotable being half way on halfway off a latter with one knee one the motor.
I only say that because I don't have a lift and still lay flat on the motor to work under there. But even still there shouldn't be any extra required steps for a job that easy, the parts should fit.
Thats what I thought, thats why I asked. I didn't think it should be so diffecult. I'll try again in the morning. I probably just need to pull my head from my rear.
Hey, Lonepineron.
HPX=High Pressure Crossover
It's a high pressure line that people are putting in to cross both sides of the oilrail. It is supposed to quiet the motor, and have a smoother idel. I wouldn't know yet, because I can't get a quick 10 minute mod done in an hour. I should change my handle from texassnyper to TEX-***. (ha ha)
are there any other benifits besides quieting the motor and smoothing the idle.. its a truck, i could care less how loud or shaky it is inside... but if it will help the engine in any way im all for it.
