400 Rotating torque- FYI

We have assembled a 400 short. No timing components, using a torque wrench it requires 25# to rotate the assembly. Badger flat top pistons, and typical moly rings set. Maybe took an extra 5# to break the assembly loose. Next we will Simtest the assembly.

that's what i'm talkin about, sounds real good! a couple guys posted high readings required to turn, i'm worried that they may have a rod cap flipped or rods out of order/position. there's a larger chamfer on the crank side of the rod, and not so much chamfer on the rod to rod sides. an engine assembled incorrectly will try to tell you early on if you listen, it'll tell you in no uncertain terms a little later.

dumb question, but when you say "no timing components", do you mean the timing chain wasn't hooked up (ie the cam wasn't turning)?

This block only has the rotating assembly in it. No chain, or camshaft
