which models of the f150 can i get a 92-96 4wd regular cab shortbox with a 351. did any of these come with manual trans or are they all autos. finally what years are best for mods as far the computer goes ie cam swap, stroker...etc.
I'm doing this from memory someone hide all of my 92-96 info. XLT and Eddie Bauer I know for sure came in short beds with 4wd. I know at the end of 96 run Ford had a discount on Eddie Bauer with Manual trans, and some of them had 4wd but I'm not sure what engine whre in them. Side note the pricing was really good because I really thought about getting one. That all said the 351 did come with a manual so it should be possible. I've never seen a truck with all of these options but I only buys autos. Hope this helps.
The 351 in F150's was not available with a manual transmission aside from 88. If there are any with a manual after that, it wasn't the ZF 5speed, and they are too few to find.
You can find XLT's that are 4x4 reg cab with a short box, and a 5-speed. The only thing is that you will have to settle for a 302. I have one (pics in gallery), and I like it alot.
If you are careful with cam selection, the stock computer can run fine with it. It will likely need to get tuned if the displacement is increased very much.
These can all be stroked and camed. If you go through the Windsor moter forum you will find endless stories of guys building up these motors. Including me.
