I'm looking for exhaust for my dads 05 F-250 with the 5.4...The problem I keep running into is they all list it for the 6.8 but not 5.4, Gibson exhaust said the 5.4 and 6.8 is the same exhaust, I have to agree Ford Wouldn't manufacture 2 different exhaust systems....Anybody have any idea? is this right??? Also with so many choices i was looking at Magnaflow, Banks, any preferences??? and 99-05 is all the same too?? correct??

I just had a local shop put on a Magnaflow with two outlets, came out under the rear bumper with 3.5" chrome tips. Cost just under 300 bucks. Sounds great, and im sure its just my imagination, but it feels to have a bit more power on takeoff and seems to rev faster. Its just gotta be that sound that I love to hear makes me rev it more.

The 05 and up have a different exhaust system so I would say the 04-99 won't fit. Just a guess. With a V8 any muffler will be OK. I'd just replace the stock muffler with one of your choice for the cheapest route... For loud I'd go Magnaflow. For more mellow I'd try a Dynomax Super Turbo.
