Looking for advice from anyone who is running the new 1805 SCMT tuner. I just received the tuner today and receive error code E-6d "call superchips" when trying to install.
I have updated everything online so I definitely have the latest software on the tuner.
Has anyone else received this message?
I saw the same error on a friends 1805, but after the update it was fine. The updates that SC has made supposedly just the stock adjustments that FORD has added recently. I'm sure there might be some other internal adjustments that could have been made.
Try updating it again and monitor it through the update. Make sure it completes.
The update has definitely completed. I get the message that there are no additional updates and Superchips engineers have been notified and will contact me via e-mail when an update is available. After some additional digging on the superchip site it appears this could take as long as 2 weeks. A little disapointing since I paid for express shipping because I am going on a 2000 mile round trip. Oh well I guess it won't be quite as fun of a drive.
Why not just return or exchange it for another...It would be worth doing verses waiting two weeks. SuperChips does have a 30 day guarrantee. Maybe Vic_Ferrari will chime in...
Call SC, they are building a file for your truck as your file wasn't in the tuner and of course till the file is built it won't be in a second one either. If you call and "cry" a bit they are usually pretty good at getting it fairly fast, their two week e mail response is a way to CYA if they are extremely busy.
Mark...I think you may have misunderstood that he has a SuperChips FlashPaq1805 and not a SCT. Correct me if I'm wrong.
When you plug in the 1805 for the first time and go through the initial setup it builds profiles for your truck based on the info it already has and what it downloads from your truck. Nobody told me, but I updated my FlashPaq online before I used it for the first time.
I think you are both right. The initial update was built based on Superchips latest files, but as Mark mentions there is not one completed for my specific factory program (and I am assuming anyone with the new flash). Unfortuantely 2 weeks out and I am still without an updated file from Superchips after several calls and some "crying".
Initially I felt the customer service was great and was confident I would have the tune loaded soon. However, now I feel like I am just getting the run around. Each time I call I get the same response that it could take 2 weeks and they are working on it. Well 2 weeks has passed and still no updates.
I am still anxiously awaiting the correct tune so I can compare the performance of predator tuner and 1805 flashpaq tuner.
You still don't have your tuner useable? This seems a little long to wait especially for something that is updatable online. I would have just asked for a return and moved on to SCT or other product. When it comes to putting up this kind of money there are just too many other options out there to go with.
One thing that you may want to try is call them and ask for your money back since they offer a 30 day MoneyBack Gurantee especially since you have not been able to use the product. I've had to do this with other products from other companies before to get satisfaction.
I like my 1805 and don't have a problem recommending it, but also wouldn't hesitate to go to another company if I needed for tuner purchases.
Yes, there is still no available file. I am willing to give superchips a little more time, but I hope to have something very soon or I will be pursuing getting my money back.
Sorry to hear that dude...I wouldn't wait to long 30 days is 30 days...That's surprising they would do this on a brand new tuner. Did you purchase this new from a dealer?
