boost ?

i have a 05 6.0PSD ive been having problems with my truck. The boost on the turbo will sometimes boost up slow blow off slow and sometimes not boost at all. i took it to the dealer and he told me that it was because of the banks six gun tuner. he let me slide and warrantied the work they took the turbo off the truck and polished the inside. he told me that there was alot of carbon build up if thats what you would call it. got it back from the dealer run good for 1week or 2 and now it is starting to act up again anyone have this problem. took it in for the last reflash too after this problem.

hmmm first i`ve heard of a polish/clean for a screwed up turbo, if its carbonned that bad, especially on an 05, you`d think the tech would search out the source of the OVER_CARBONNING first , most likely egr or excessive idleing, and then REPLACE !! the turbo. We have had 5 turbos replaced on one of the 350`s, and 2 on the other..

will excessive idleing make the turbo do that or make the truck run that bad?

well i think i found the problem that is causing this. I disconnected the egr valve on friday and it has not given me any problems actually it runs a little better. It goes to the dealer monday to get checked. but do you think it would be safe to put my tuner back on after the dealership? I have the six gun and the superchips 1704-a. which on is my safer option?

Your very fortunate that the dealer worked on your truck knowing it had been modified. I had the same problem with my 03, because of all the mods I had to pay $1600 for a new turbo, the vanes were sticking because of the build-up, the tech split the turbo and showed me the insides. I bought an 05 swore not to mod, ended up exhaust and programmer (Triple-pup). Again started having the same problems. I just traded it in for a 06 dually. I won't touch the engine this time, not worth losing the warranty. My 05 would sometimes have no boost, lose power while driving, and when cold overboost.

I run the 1704a with a muffler delete. I haven't had any problems thus far. 14,000 miles on my 05 and I had the same setup on my 04. the majority of my driving is highway at 60+ MPH.
