Anybody have any resources for determining the value of a 1966 F350? Also, is there a different VIN decoder needed to read what I have been told is the VIN? I was told it is F358P886302, but I'm not sure if that is all of it.
I tried to decode it for you; are you absolutely sure those numbers/letters are correct? Could it be F35BP... If so:
F35--F350
B--6 cyl, 1bbl carb
P--Twin Cities, MN
That helps a lot, now does anybody know if there is like a Kelly Blue Book type resource for determining the value of this truck? It is a 1966 single cab, 2 wd F350 with dual rear wheels. It was set up as a sling tow truck, according to the current owner the only thing wrong is a broken brake line. He is open to offers in the $500 neighborhood. Is this a good deal or no? How rare is this body style even without the tow equipment? Not that I am in this for money, but how hard will it be to get parts and will it be worth restoring?

IMHO...if it runs decent and isnt wrecked or a rustbucket 500...since thats what he is seeking is a heckuva deal....886302 btw is a July 1st 66 build....July numbers start at 886000....also one of the last 1 tons as August was transition month and the run ended with 913999 ....
Personally, I would be all over it if its in decent shape....
