Vin # help

I have a 1989 f-250 I need to know which of the vin #'s sigify cab and chassie and what it should be if it had a regular bed from the factory? the vin is 1FTEF26H9KLA68490

Not sure if they've kept the same system but compared to a new one it would be the F26 for the body. Currently the F is for regular cab, and the 2 is 250, though the 6 now would be a different character.

you have a F-250 pickup. there was no such animal as a F250 cab chassis.
cab chassis was a F-350 dually or F-Superduty, and when you look at the vehicle information sticker on the door "B" pillar it will say "INCOMPLETE VEHICLE" on top of the sticker
