89 150 Stalls when cold

89 150 Stalls when cold
I have a 89 f150 351w stalls when cold, but is fine when warmed up. any ideas? if it is about half warmed up, the idle goes up and down as if it was about to stall but dosnt? is my idle set to low maybe? also, I have a code reader and I hook everything up properly but cannot get any codes from it. check light is on.
