Rear End problem
I'm very new to this board, but I have a problem/question and need some help. I have an 04 f150 4X4 with 3.73 gears, limited slip with 25K miles. My truck has already been to the dealer to have slip/clunk noise repaired. Today I took the truck in because the brake caliper bolts became loose and to also have the rear-end whine (40-45 mph) taken care of. The service department said the whine is tire noise. Is there a TSB or any other info I can take to them as ammunition. The tires I have are 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. Thank you for any help that anyone can provide.
I feel stupid. I did a little research on this fine site and found all the ammunition I need. Looks like several TSB's addressing this problem with the rear-ends. And guess what, the dealer service dept called me back and said they did hear the whine in the rear-end and that they would fix the problem. I guess the BIG MAN upstairs is looking out for me today. Thanks again for a very informative site.
