door striker bushing

I need to replace the door striker bushings on my 77 F-150. Is there any way to install just the bushing and not have to buy an entire new striker? The big washer won't come off and splitting a new bushing doesn't seem like that would work very well either.

Thanks, TS

No, just get a new striker from the parts store. Some guys will wrap tape or a piece of hose around the striker. But a new striker is pretty cheap and easy to change.

Been there done that, -buy the entire striker assy, they are cheap. Seems like a waste but I have never been able to get one of those washers off. I still have a plastic bushing somewhere...

The auto part store in the help section of the store has them, also the sponsors on the left of the forum, such as Blue oval Truck Parts, Auto Krafters, National Parts Depot

Torque1st, I know what you mean about those washers.
If you buy a new stricker assembly from a parts store, the washers come off easy on those and then you can just change the plastick piece.

Even the HELP part I bought the last time did not have a washer that came off. I seldom need to change the bushing twice tho. Whenever I part out a vehicle I save those parts in the bolt bucket. It is a great source for replacement parts and unusual fasteners.
