Question Carb. Idenifcation

i have a 312 V8 in my 57 ranchero and my carb has a leak. im trying to find a rebuild kit, but i dont know what type of carb. i have, any help would be great. its a 4 barrell, on the Tbird 312. thanks

You probably have whats called a "T pot" Holly 4 brl carb on it. From what I understand that these carbs are hard to come by. Dont know about rebuild kits, but I think you can get an adapter plate to fit and install a newer style 4 brl on it.

you may have an autolite carb.its shaped like a holley but is one piece.i guess you dont have a holley because theres no one left who doesnt recognize one.

thanks, i think it might say holly on it, ill check when i get home, im at school. any idea on how much a rebuild is? or is it even worth it?

If all it needs is a rebuild, then it is worth it Check out the prices of new carbs. If you buy one off of e-bay, it could end up needing rebuilt too. Prices around here run 100-150, unless you know my retired mechanic friend.
