Has anyone ever put a dumpbox on a truck before.
I am thinking about putting one on my 1979 F250 4x4?
How do you hook up the pump to the np435 four speed?
And where can I find these pumps?
Any info. would be great. I want to do this because this is my work truck, I have a 1978 F150 4x4 for good, and a texas box cost $1000+.
Thanks
Hi, there must be a truck shop or two in your area. These shops will most likely make all kinds of utility boxes, flatbeds and such. This would be the place to shop I would think. As an example, there is a place by me in San Jose Ca. that would convert my 60 F-350 to a dump bed at a cost of 3K, all inclusive. Hope this helps.
Why not go with the electric/hydraulic units like the lowriders use to hop their cars? They have ample power and you won't need to touch your transmission. I've used them on a wrecker boom and have had one on a wheel-lift since 1993 with no problem at all. I am going to use one when I turn my F350 flatbed into a dump, as they are simple and trouble-free.
