Can't Here Turn Signal
- F350 Diesel - I am unable to here my Turn Signal. Diesel drowns out, dealer has nothing to offer. Is there louder turn signals in the after market? Is there an option similiar to my continental which sounds an alert when your signal is on to long.
I did not realize my turn signals made a sound. Heck, I can barely hear my radio, and thats all GOOD! I use the little lights on the dash to tell about my turn signals. Just kidding . Good luck finding a indicator that can be heard over a well tuned 7.3 PSD
I found one on JCWhitney.com.. type in the search block ZX132596P.. $6.99 + shipping..They says it is twice as loud as stock.. (i think it will fit, have not pulled mine yet to see.. if it is 2 prongs, it should fit). I will also be ordering one.. I can't hear mind either..
Well, i can't find the turn flasher unit.. i think it might be on the left side of the steering column, thru the large fuse access dash panel.. But, it is really hard to get too.. too many wire bundles in the way.. Anyone know for sure ?
The turn signal relay is located up inside the dash, sort of behind the cubby area, a little lower than the radio... almost smack dab in the middle of the dash. If you lay on the drivers floor, and reach up in the sort of gap next to the floor heater vent, you can get your hand up in there. Turn your ignition to RUN so you get power to the blinkers, and turn your blinker on... you can hear it clicking, and when you reach up in there, you'll be able to feel it. It's inside a little plastic box, and if you feel carefully you can feel the tabs to release the lid, then pull out the relay (it's the taller of the two, and you can feel it clicking), and replace with a new one, if that's what you're trying to do. But anyway, that's where it is and how to get to it. It's a real tight fit and you're doing it blind, but it's really not tooo tough.
RYANEVERK2 and CLINTBONNIE
Thanks from PistolPete to both of you for the info. I will let you know how I make out. First I want to see if I can get to relay and get it out.
You're welcome! If you have any trouble getting to it let me know and I'll try to give a more detailed description... it's been a while since I accessed it and I posted that from memory.

After some researching for loud turn flasher, finally found the following.. a little pricey but a direct replacement (5 pin) see model 607.. see: www.turnalarm.com
I just replaced my turn signal relay with a ep-27 trico, and hear it fine. but Im not sure how loud you want it to be. I changed mine because of my led lights were causing the stock relay to hyperflash.

You exactly correct on the placement, I did mine from your direction and had it completed in a few minutes. It hard to get in there but it can be done.

Thanks Clint.. that is good to know about the Trico replacement.. it is alot cheaper than the one i found. Is it louder the stock one? By the way, you have cool 1st name... Clint
No thank you ryan for the direction to get the job done. Clintbonie I think it was louder but man I dont want to steer you wrong. I can hear it fine and thats all I can say. I drove my truck today after the replacement and had no issues about hearing it.You will have to be your own judge but not only did the new relay make my lights blink corectly but I can hear it too. I just dont want you to be upset if its not what your looking for, because us Clint's have to stick together!!! There are not to many around ya know..
