1996 powerstroke

I have a 1996 powerstroke and as soon as you start the engine cold it runs eratic misses & kicks the check engine light on & sets the code p1211. once the computer takes over & sets the icp to 750 it lines out seems to run alot better once the engine reaches operating temp. any ideas???

Does your truck have the 10K mod on the ICP? Sounds like mine did when I had the ICP set too high. Ford's message for the code is...

IPR ICP pressure above/below desired Continuous and KOER on-demand test IPR valve failed, stuck, or shorted to ground

(KOER is "Key On, Enginge Running". It's a test setup for Ford.)

As for a cure, I can only guess. Possibly the connection to the ICP (driver's side, top of head, 1/3rd back from the front, under the filter area cover, 3-wire connector) is bad or the ICP is defective.

1996 powerstroke code 1211 icp

it has no 10k mod done.It seems like the pressure is to high by the datastream on the scan tool. once the engine warms up it will only kick the check engine light on if you pull hard or let the engine coast down
