Hi i have a 2001 2.5 liter xl single cab short bed with a 5 speed maual tranny ford ranger sence i bought the truck the check engine light had been on so i went to auto zone and it came up as a egr valve but it has been fine so i just left it like that and ive had the truck for about 6 months and it drove fine recently i bent my driveshaft and the truck wasnt turned on for about 2 days then i got a new driveshaft and put it on and it started just fine i drove it around fine so i went and filled up the gass tank toped if off and right as i got home when i pulled into the drive way i push in the clutch and the engine kept reving with my foot off the gas to 3 grand so i turned it off and started it up and put it in nutral and hit the gas and it didnt do it it just when back to idle like normal works fine when its cold but once it warms up and im in gear drving it when i come to as light and push in the clutch it start reving up to about 4 grand then slowly goes back to idle i went to autozone and got a p1401 code which is Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor circuit High Voltage idk what this means the thing is im going to the desert this weekend for a race and i need to fix this if anyone has any idea what the problem is please help me thanks

I agree with Ken, it sounds like the DPFE or a connecting line.
As the DPFE controls the EGR valve's operation, it's often the root cause of a EGR fault code & a vacuum leak in it, or one of it's connecting lines can cause some weird idle problems.
