Tell your ife she dont know a good car.....if shes talkin bout the mercedes mclaren then i might agree but anything ealse is just over priced and under equipped. I personally love both auto makers and give them both props for their cars but seriously is the car really worth that much?? Whatyall think of the FORD GT?
The Mercedes Mclaren is the over-priced car. you can get a sl65 for half the price and it will perform almost as well. where do you get that mercedes are under-equipped? The Ford GT is an awesome car bang for the buck its hard to beat but the interior is a little to spartan to be competition for the european cars.
Over the last 50 years, Ferrari has built some of the most beautiful cars in automobildom. Lamborghini made tractors and refridgerators before they tried their hand at supercars. Give me just about any front-engined V-12 Ferrari, and I'll die happy.
I agree with you polar bear but i must say GIMME ANY V12 Car and ill be happy, theres sumthing about 12 cylinders that jus sounds AWESOME i mean roll up to a little riceburner or corvette n roar your twelve cylinders while he roars his 8....through in an F1 gear box and yah hes beat without even leavin the startin line! Did anyone see that episode of top gear a while back about the ferrari vs th lambo??? They showed a re run last thursday.......gave good comparisons on both cars
The build quality on the Lambo is much lower than that of the Ferrari. If you can find one get a F40, the only car to beat a Mclaren F1 when those cars were raced.
I visited a shop that restores Ferraris and saw a Testarossa stripped to the frame
The welding on the frame was terrible, the body had a filler all over it from new and the insides of the panels had no paint on, which was why it was rusting through
The guy who owned the shop said he didn't paint the insides of the panels he was repairing to "keep it authentic" this also meant he would get it back in ten years time to restore again
Just a note most ferrari's and lambos are mid-engine, call them front or rear and you're likely to get your head taken off. the hood might be in the back but the weight is centered.
Well, if I were ever to be in a financial situation that I could consider purchasing a car of that caliber the decision would be easy. My choice would be the Ford GT !!!!!!

Apart from the Enzo and the F50 all V12 Ferrari's have been front engined. For example, the current Scagalleti and Marenello are front engined.
yeah, I sold exotic auto's and the lower priced v-12s are a sore point with the ferrari nuts(read: people that can afford the enzo). so they simply choose to ignore the existence of them. personally I enjoy the lines of the 575. reason for the info was that when most people refer to a dream ferrari it is the f50 or the enzo which are mid-engine.
I personally hate the enzo, i think its ugly, but thats just me. I also would never pay over 500,000 for a car, no matter how rich i was.sure its a great car, head turner, but doesnt have that sexy ferrari look to it. I used to like the 360, but have recently changed to the scaglietti and the marenello, i like the front engine look, and theres just sumthing about them that makes em look so good. Im also a fan of the aston marton DB9 and the v12 vanquish, although i was watching top gear last week and the vanquish is way over priced, when the db9 has the same engine and tranny for like 100k less.
im not a really a fan of either. i do like the looks of the old lambo contach[spelling?]
the only ferrari thats ever really cought my eye was the old f40's. i dont really know anything about either brand. not a big fan of the high reving v12 something tells me their not that reliable. or not the cheapest engines to fix.
i did see the new ferrari 360 a couple of years ago at an auto show, it wasnt to bad looking. but then the dude had to start it up, it sounded like my homelight weed wacker when he was revving it.
Theyre built like Formula1 cars, thats what they sound like, i personally like the sound, a Ferrari or a Lambo would sound good with a roaring muscle car sound but thats not what they are, Theyre Race engineered driving machines, not meant to sound good, strictly a performance thing.
