Sticking Throttle

I have a question. I have been experiencing a problem with my wifes Explorer for some time now. In the morning when it is cold the accelerator pedal sticks requiring excessive force to get it to function. After the one time it works fine. I thought it was a worn throttle cable and replaced it with a Ford OEM unit. Still the same problem though. I did some research on this site and found a recall for this very problem issued by Ford. https://www.ford-trucks.com/recalls/.../y-1998/t-8930 It calls for the throttle body to be replaced due to improper clearances between the throttle plate and the throttle body. I called my dealer and talked to the service manager (a good friend) and he suggested I call Ford customer service because my VIN did not show the recall.

Problem is the customer service rep. (foreign language speaking) said my vehicle is not included in this recall and she suggested I talk with the supervisor. When I got the customer service supervisor (foreign language speaking) she got IRATE with me. How sad is it when they outsource the customer service center (speculation only, based on this experience), yet they complain about the cheap imports, and the american people not buying american??? Supervisor told me that it did not matter that my vehicle fit all the parameters listed in the recall it was not effected. When I told her I came to this website (www.Ford-trucks.com) she went even more ballistic with all the "you can't believe what you read and see on the internet crap". I asked to speak with her supervisor and she told me she didn't have one. I politely asked her was she Bill Ford's sister or daughter. This did not help matters any. She had absolutely no sense of humor. LOL

But seriously, have any of you experienced this problem with your Explorers? What have you done to correct the problem? Is there another approach I can/should take with Ford? Too bad reps from Ford don't get involved with a website like this to help the brand. I'm a LOYAL ford driver for 30 years (18 Fords and counting) now and I wouldn't drive anything else. I have over the last 30 year experimented with a few other brands (Dodge, GM, Toyota, and Nissan) but I have always come back to the reliability of the FORD.

If I had been a newer Ford owner I probably would have sold my vehicle after being berated like that. While I am typing this her supposed supervisor calls and starts out real pleasant and concerned and then when I questioned the recall he also did an about face. He stated that this is the facts and your stuck with it. Now I'm reconsidering the brand loyalty thing. No concern for the safety of the vehicle operator whatsoever.

It kind of reminds me of the whole Firestone tire fiasco. We had a firestone tire start to come apart on the way home from the dealership when we bought the vehicle. It was visibly deformed when we got home with the car. Yet Firestone said it was not included in the recall. I bought new Michelins for the car and two months later a total recall of all the firestone tires came out and Ford reimbursed me for the tires.

Thanks in advance

i bought a used throttle body on ebay taken off the exact same truck as mine but it only had something like 40,000 miles on it for $40 shipped. replaced it myself and have had no problems since.
