When did you first like trucks?

I was thinking about how long I have liked trucks. I can remember being about 5 years old (Long time ago) and when I would see a Dump truck go by I would stop what I was doing to look at it. I have always had this facination with trucks.. How about you??

Then when I was 13 I had to stay after school. For what I don't remember, But I do remember like it was yesterday how I got home..
Me and a friend were walking home and a Local contractor picked us up in his truck. I remember having to climb up into that beast and then watching him shift gears. I made a note of the truck model and said to myself I want one of these..

That truck was a 1967 or 1968 Ford F250.. This started the wonderful curse of trucks...

Needless to say the first truck I bought of my own was a 1976 F250.. I loved that truck and drove it for 11 years.. Never should have sold it

I have had many over the years with my latest an 06 F350 Diesel..

I can sum it up for you by telling you what I told a dealer once, who tried to sell me an expedition.

"Me with out a truck is like a cop without a donut" it is not going to happen..

Just wondering how everyone else came to realize they loved trucks..

It was the only thing that quieted me down when I was an infant...1978 Ford pick-up, blue on blue. To this day I still think that's what turned me into a car/truck guy altogether.

As far back as I can remember, all my toys were cars or trucks, built models, read books, anything I could get my hands on that was automotive related. My parents didn't care what they drove. My first truck memory was when we borrowed our friends 85 F-250 for a trip to california. We used it because it had 2 tanks and a shell with the sliding rear windows. I tried so hard to make my first truck a 4x4 F-250 of that body style. I ended up with a 83 F-100 2wd with a 300. My father just suprised me with it one day. My parents were always concerned with MPG. I still had lots of fun in that truck. I went through several kinds of ford trucks before I ended up with the 80-86 body style again with my dream truck, F-250 4x4 supercab.

I can't remember a time when I didn't like trucks. Fire trucks, dump trucks, tractor-trailers, pickups, you name it.

The first truck I recall was my father's 1947 FORD TRUCK - yes I know a long time ago - he used on the farm. That made me a FORD TRUCK man (kid) and there has been no looking back. To this day I still prefer a FORDTRUCK even though I have always been an automotive person.

i have pretty much always liked trucks. in fact the vehicle i learned to drive in was my dads 67 chevy C10, 327/4spd. the next truck type vehicle i drove was my dads 71 ford van, then a 65 gmc step van. the first truck i owned was an 84 F250 diesel/4spd. i am currently looking for another truck or van. probably a mid to late 70's F series(100,150,250), though a ranchero isnt out of the question.

My dad had an '84 F150 he bought new, and some of my earliest memories were riding in that truck. I was hooked for life. My first truck, when I have to get one, will be a Ford. No questions asked.

The first time I rode in Grandpa's 1953 Chevy. I must have been about four at the time.

1977. The family took the Supercab on an epic family vacation. I've got so many memories of that trip.

there are things other than trucks out there? I must be imagining stuff now.

I"ve ALWAYS loved trucks, starting with the old 85 F150 my dad drove all the time, till he blew the motor on it.

When? When my I got big enough to step on the starter button of my Dad's '53 Chevy. Well...I stepped on his foot that was on the starter ...and helped him push on it

Re-enforced when I got my Ford Tonka.

I think I liked trucks since the late 50s when I would play with my collection of Tonkas
