2006 F150?
Hey guys new to the board, I wanted to say hi. As of right now I'm waiting to see if I'm approved to lease a new 2006 F150 XLT "Reg" cab, you know the new one with the half rear doors. It's got the 4.6L V8 in it. I wanted the 5 speed but this one has the auto. It also has the flare side box. The dealer will be throwing in the hitch for me. I wanted to know what you guys thought of the new trucks. Any big problems or pros that I should know of? any feed back would be great.

Welcome to FTE newtuner. There were problems with these trucks for the first model year, but I havent heard much for the 05s and 06s. Once you get the truck, make sure to set up a gallery here at FTE so other users can see your truck! If you click my username, you can see my galleries, and know what Im talking about. unfortunately...you can only get an automatic with a V8, no manual transmission is offered unless it is a V6, which kinda reeks...
i have had my 05 for 3 months...been awesome except the EGR Valve problem i had...

Well I'm picking the truck up tomorrow, I can't wait. For sure I'll be putting up pictures. I know the guy at the dealership said ford just starting putting out 5 speeds. They didn't even have any in stock for me to see. I was going to order one from the factory, but that was going to be a V6. So I don't know if you can get it with the V8. Does the lightning have a 5 speed, doesn't that have a V8? Either way I now have a V8 and an auto Is this truck going to be fast? It's only a two wheel drive flare side box. Reg cab, I'm sure it will be faster then my Sunfire. I'm going to ask the dealership, but I wanted to know whats the right way to break in a new engine? I want to do it the right way.

So I finally picked up the truck. It felt like forever yesterday waiting for all the paper work to finish. So far I'm taking it easy on the truck but it's great. I'm off to a ski trip, so on monday I will take pictures and post them up.
