Does this look excessive? This it the front tire on my Dually. The allignment seems fine, (drives straight) but I notice when I turn the wheels the steering wheel doesnt snap back like it used to. Also when you turn sharp, the tires sound like they are buckling under, or dragging across the ground, and you really have to hrlp the steering wheel back to get it straight. I just had the truck lifted, and wondering if this is what I have to look foreward too. These tires have less than 500 miles on them and the rears still look brand new. Side note. My last set of tires up front on this thing were rounded on the edges, and the rears remained normal. Is this common on a dually? http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...T/tirewear.jpg
for teh outside edge it loks fine, how is the inside? are they hitting on something? have you made sure that 4x4 is not engaged? sounds dumd but tires do that bucking at turns when the front tires are being driven.
Yup, that looks about right. My front tires look almost identical to that. You may also get the every other tread wear problem. My trucks alignment is dead on and the tire pressure is checked often. Unless I'm pulling a trailer or hauling a heavy payload I keep the cold tire pressure right at 65 psi in the front. It just seems to be the way BFG MT's wear on our dually's. I suspect that the weight of the truck and pizza cutter sized tire's, along with BFG's soft rubber have a lot to do with it.
Great, Thanks guys. I checked the pressure and it seems to be at 62#s. Ill bump it up tomorrow. Also Ive noticed the fuel MPG in the overhead console has dropped a 10th or 2. Did the tire size throw it off, or am I really loosing mpg?
