I ordered a 4" exhaust kit and it came with a 3.5 inch down pipe. It is already installed and I just saw that it was supposed to come with a 4" down pipe. Should I change it? Am I losing performance?
Thanks.
Not really, when i got mine 3.5 inch I had asked about the 4 inch downpipe. The dealer said he would recomend the 4 inch if you are pushing 500 rwhp or more
Actually the 4.0 down pieps on a 6.0 are nothign but advertising. No gain in flow or drop in EGT as compared to a 3.5. We built the first 6.0 systems on my truck at MBRP and the 4.0 was tried and there was no benefit at all with the VRT turbo. In fact you're better off as lots of times the 4.0 will hit the firewall when you're towing and create a lot of unwanted racket anyway.
