I am changing my front disk brakes on my 1978 f-250 w dual
piston calipers. I got the hubs off but i cant get the rotors off because there is something tlike a bolt in the center keeping it there. i need to know what it is, if im doing it right and if i need a special tool for this bolt?
thanks
It sounds like the bearing adjustment bolt - if your truck is a 2WD. I had to go out and buy a large socket that would fit it to get it off. When you repack the bearings, you need to make sure that you adjust the nut to the correct torque before installing the cotter pin.
if you look into hub were you removed the look fer the 4x4 then you should see a c ring on the inside of the hub.when you locate this you will need a screw driver to pop this out or a pic to pry this out then remove the lock nut and pull ur rotor.
