I called today to get the VIN for the truck I was supposed to buy on Jun 1 and the guy let his friend borrow it and he wrecked it. He said he was hauling a large load of dirt and lost it on a corner and ended up in a ditch. I guess its in pretty bad shape since his friend is buying the truck or atleast paying him for it. I told him I would still buy the truck as long as the only damage was to the body, but he didnt sound optimistic. Guess I am still looking for a truck.

Sorry to hear about that Aaron. Sometimes things happen for a reason though. I’d continue looking for another truck, it’s usually cheaper to buy the best condition you can afford than it is to fix it to the same condition.

You had it right. He called after looking at the truck and said he was glad I never bought it. He said the cab mounts were rusted bad enough that when it hit the ditch, the cab just went straight into the engine. If the weather clears up, I will go look at a 72 360 C6 tomorrow. The only supposed problems with this truck would be a passenger side front fender and he says he has a replacement.
