I think the camera thing is ready. I I recertified in First aid and CPR so I think my wife and I will have that area covered pretty well. Rollie, send me the link to that trophy place.

I hate to say this, but I honestly think that there is no way that Fordtoberfest can happen this year. There have only been a few people that have actually contributed anything to getting the show going and there has been no activity in this thread since April 8th. There was a forum set up just for Fordtoberfest and it is just as dead as this thread. As far as I am concerned, there is no way that a quality show can be put on with the amount of input that has been put forth. I would rather not have the show than put on something that is sub-par, that makes it so much harder to do next time. I would have really liked to see us get this off the ground, but I just don't see how it can be done.
Tony, there's not really much that can be done with no location. A lot of us aren't in a position to find a location. Speaking for myself, every job I was given, couldn't be done with the information that I had. I'm not really sure what else everyone could have done.
I think Carl already mentioned this to Tony in a PM, but I thought I'd put it out here for everyone.
What about the State Fairgrounds? We've looked into the parking lots for another event and it's around $50 for Saturday and Sunday (both days for $50) to rent the east parking area. We believe this is the large grass parking area east of the race track, but we need to confirm that. We'll cover the field rental if someone else can provide whatever else needed.
This is just for an open field, so some one will need to bring things like a canopy and tables and such, if needed. We can still do T-Shirts. What we'll do there is sign up in advance and have that many shirts made, plus a few extras.
If there is enough interest, we can rent one of the pavilions (barns), but that will cost a bit more. We can't afford to cover that ourselves.
We were thinking of renting the lot anyway for a WattFlyer fly in. WattFlyer is a community for Electric RC pilots that we are in, and we've been trying to organize a fly in for it. If you folks don't mind, we may set up the fly in and Fordtoberfest for the same weekend. From the looks of things now, the flyin will only draw maybe a half dozen or so pilots, because most memebers are on the coasts and are afraid they'll be scalped by us red indians .
Sara is right, there was a lot that needed a location to be completed, but there was also a ton of stuff that could have been done with out the location being set. With the exeption of a very few people, no one made any attempt to do anything. As far as I am concerned, I am done with the whole mess. There was not enough support from this chapter to warrent the amount of time that has already been spent on this. If someone else wants to do it, then I wish them luck, maybe the chapter will do something then. Thanks to the people that did try and help, but I just don't have it in me anymore.
