Need Some Help
Ive got a 1978 f100 longbed with a 300 staight 6, The truck has a 3spd overdrive manual transmission with reverse on the far left and down from what Ive deciphered the transmission is a 1980. The numbers on the tag on the casing is RUG LK1 E0TR AA 0962 . the transmission is no good it was run without fluid in it I need to replace it but nobody can tell me the name of the transmission, or what i could swap in its place and what other changes I would have to make to do so as far as the driveshaft and etc. any help or information or the location of a good used replacement trans would be greatly appreciated im located in NC.

You might check on eBay...there is a company from Phoenix that sells all types of trannies, manual and automatic, for all kinds of cars and trucks. I have an 86 F150 4x4 with a bad auto trans and I had no idea what was in there...they informed me the AOD was the proper trans for it, and quoted me a very reasonable price (575.00, completely remanufactured). They should be able to help.
