I was just sitting here watching the snow melt off of my truck and started to think ' AM I NUTS?' I just sold a 1988 F 150 XLT Lariet loaded with power everything to refurbish a 1970 Ranger XLT. I MUST be crazy , or, really love my 1970 so much that I would sell the 1988. Anyway, I have no excuses now not to get into the nuts and bolts and anything else that needs "updating!". I "borrowed" the wife's digital camera and put a picture in the gallery, the first of many.(I think) Hope everyone above the Mason-Dixon Line didn't have to many problems with the "Weekend Whiteout', as the storm came your way. Here in Chester Va. just a slight coating on the ground, just enough to keep you in the house and not under the truck.( HA, HA) Well, I'm gonna run now. Have to get cleaned up for the mother-in-law's birthday party this aftrenoon, but, you better believe I WILL be in front of the T.V. this afternoon for the Bud Shootout, IF, I don't load up on too much cake and ice cream!
Nice looking truck!!! I don't think you're crazy. Its up to you what you want. I've got a project that pretty much whips my butt every Saturday, and you can believe I'll be there again Saturday morning with a grin.
Thank you gentlemen for your support and compliments on the "Old Girl". I just today sent off some catalogue shopping orders for some fresh parts. Gonna start with the easy stuff and work my way up to the knuckle bustin' stuff for when the weather gets warmer, which hopefully isn't to far away. I'll load up some new pictures when I can show some progress.
I'm off to the tech tips and articles page to get some info. Will post more later.
Sweet looking truck and a rare sight. Looks like you have a very nice one. If there wasn`t so much salt on our roads in the winter I would drive my 69 all year instead of just the spring/summer/fall.
I had a 70 Custom that had 302, 3 on the tree and manual steering back in '93. Kept it till '97. Got tired of having to "muscle" the wheel to park it at the store. It kept jumping out second gear alot too. After I sold it, I regretted letting it go. I saw this one on the side of the road this summer and just had to have it. Cleared it with the "boss" (wife) first though. She gave her OK and the rest is history as they say. Right now it's the daily driver as the wife's B2 is down and out for the count now. Oil pan has a bucket's worth of rusty water in it. Wife said she was going to drive it till the wheels fell off. Wheels still on but this seems terminal. Probably get Jaspers engine and get it on the road again. Gotta save enough green backs to get her going again. Wife still wants the wheels to fall off of it!!! Thanks Fomoko1..Morris for the good comments on the picture. Some rusty spots on the bed and around the bottom of both doors, but, I think I can handle that this spring. Not bad shape considering it's 36 years young!

I sold my perfectly good 91 F150 last summer. I'd spent about 5 years getting it "right". I was about as close to perfect as a 91 could get. So what'd I do? Sold it to work on my 69 F250!
Call me crazy! At least at FTE I'm surrounded by people who understand why.
