7 days enjoying:
Flowers, candy, chocolate, dinners out ,a concert,a hockey game or two, dancing drinking, etc.
After years of doing this with so many different women it became a waste of time, energy & money.
When I found Michelle in 1993 I gave her 6 roses on our first real date (Bad thing to do)
Later that year in Dec on her 36th Birthday I gave her 3 dozen red roses and a bunch of other stuff.
On Valentines Week in 1994 I gave her more heart shapedstuff, roses, hockey game, etc
Here's the deal :
Michelle detests flowers as she considers them a waste and the fact that I had them all freeze dried to preserve them for eternity. They lasted 2 moves and then they disintegrated. More waste
She likes candy/chocolate but NOT for Valentine's.Not only is it a waste but it can add to her waist
It is my experience that the best thing a person can do or say on Valentines Day is:
Give a hug and say, "I care about you and I think of you often"
Man, some of you guys need to ajust your sad outlook on v-day! Valentines day rules...tons of single chicks everywhere are a sure thing for a booty-call. Its sorta like a buffet....
Some of you may think thats shallow, I tend to think of it as enriching womens lives on an otherwise lonely day
Well, I got succored into buying a dozen roses and a big azzed heart shaped box of chocolates. I had to do something, her sisters husband is cooking for her sister. Which normally she would say, "well he needs to do something to try to make up for all the stuff he does the rest of the year". Not the case this year. We normally just buy each other little stuff throughout the year and spend valentines day togather, but this year, her sister called and told her what her husband was cooking for her my wife called me and told me about it (with hormones raging) and I did not dare come home without something. I tell you, I cant wait for my daughter to be born, all this hormonal, emotional stuff is killing me.
Hmmm...Valentine's Day is just another day of pleasing our women right? So it's all the same. It's just "enhanced" this one day of the year.
My wife just finished porting the heads for our project torino...yep, you read correctly, PORTING HEADS. We're spending V-day cuddling in our project car, listening to eight tracks that we used to listen to. Yea, eight tracks, it was her idea (did I tell you I knew I loved this woman the day we met?)
She ported the heads on the 429, while I installed the four link suspension, and of course...got her a nice present (a, well, nevermind...) But we do this anyway, because we like doing things together.
What I should say: Valentine's day is just a joke mostly, you don't need a special day for anything of the sort, as long as you're happy with who you are. Otherwise, it's just nothing but a promotion for the flower, candy, and card companies out there.
Be happy with yourself, and the right one will come, and you won't care about some silly holiday.

I agree. One of the girls showed up for work today with her Jeep coated with mud- almost looked like your truck. She went camping with a few friends visiting from Texas, took em shooting in a Quarry and gave them a taste of Oregon mudding. I had to think of this thread when she talked about her weekend. oh yeah- the Jeep's got Texas plates, and she's cute as can be. and single They're out there, gents. Go fish.
Your 6'4", tanned, ripped, and a multi millionaire to boot right???
That would be the ideal description! I work out with worlds strongest man {spell check from hell} Mariov Pudzinowski. Just tell them this stud was in 2 different Spanish soap opras, and trained with Chuck Norris in Hawaii.
My sympathies. My son has a female DS- don't get your hopes up. I'm told she's as tough/tougher than any of the guys
Is she by any means good looking? or have an Aussy accent?

jjoel, only a few more short hours till that sad day. How are you holding up?
im doing pretty ok. its 3:08 in the morning right now and i can't sleep (pills wore off i suppose). anyways i've just been thinking alot of my 94 bmw 325i thats getting picked up out of the shop later this week so that'll make me feel a little bit better.
anyways i guess i miss my friends around this time of year more than the girls. im taking time off of college right now to catch up on $$$$ and my friends are about a 14 hour drive away at school. i told them to celebrate SAD day for me this year, so tommorow they're going to get together at the campus snack shop and get a few root beers going around
The girls with the manicured nails and the foo-foo hairdoos don't do a thing for me. Show me a woman who doesn't mind getting her hands dirty, who will crawl under the truck alongside me to help me work on it and can give me a run for money intellectually (not that I'm a genius, or anything like it!) and I'll definitely be taking a closer look! Although, it would be nice if she at least still had most of her teeth...(a rarity around here.)
I had one, good looking, smart, never complained even though I left her at home a lot, would gladly help me work on anything, hell someday's I would look out the window an she would be washing my truck!
But after 2 1/2 years I thought I wanted better so I run her off, the truth is when you have someone with everything your looking for you don't realize it until it's to late. And now every time I see her with her "other half" and kid it makes me regret moves that I have made in the past.
I'm just saying that it goes both way's, no one gender is responsible.
