Question Warranty Question

I have a 2003 F350 cc 4wd drw 7.3 psd. with a AFE II air intake and SUPER CHIPS tunner, HPX LINE , CCV MOD.
If I have to take it in for work under warranty I can clear my codes and refit to stock. Can this be seen when I take it in to the dealer? How about the HPX LINE AND CCV MOD?

ford is going to battle you over warranty with anything other than a completely stock truck. since yours has the ccv and an intake other than ais and the hpx line they will probably argue with you even if they dont know the tuner is there. what is wrong with your truck?

No problem with the truck now, but I want to put on 5" exhaust and thought that if they can read the codes with dates anyway, I would go ahead and get the 5". If not, maybe the muffler off stock.
I still have 40,000 mile of warranty and can put on the stock air intake if need be.

When you read history codes that may have been set they only can only be read for like fifty ignition cycles. I may be off on that number but i do know they don't stay in the computer memory forever. Hope this helps.

I bought this truck used from a Ford Dealership. I just happened to meet the past owner that sold me the programer and trailer brake for $200.
I just was wondering, if they can not read dates, how would they know if I or past owner used a programmer?
I also want to start making my own BIODIESEL, but it will not be worth it to lose 40,000 mile of warranty.

When I took my 02 in for warranty, they told me they can access the computer and send the print out in to make sure the settings are within factory specs. We live in a small town and don't know if that's why they had to send the print out in and did not have the equipment to read it at the dealership.

Dont worry,, on a 7.3, After a certain amount of cycles they wont be able to see anything,, 50 cycles might be it,, i dont remember the number.if you take it in with the tuner installed they wont beable to read it with their software and they will know something is up for sure.
Put everything back as close to factory as you can, then wait a week or so, for the cycles and take it in.I took mine in before with nothing but my HPX and they never said a word.
Now if you had a 6.0, supposedly they have software that can tell if the eprom was ever reflashed and what changes were made.
If they go inside the motor (7.3) they can tell the difference in the spray pattern on top of the pistons if some kind of after market programing was done, but you shouldnt have to worry about that,Unless you window a block like I did.

Thanks for the help on this one and good job on the exhaust price!

Talking Warranty

The problem I have found is were to complacant. I have won two warranty claims from Ford this year. We don't have to take there crap. You need to read the federal warranty laws and don't back down. By law you can do what you want to your truck. Warranty cannot be refused just because you have mods!! The burdon of proof is on the dealership. Without a doubt they have to prove the mod caused the warranted part to fail. This works, I didn't get lucky and it is free to us as consumers. Feel free to contact me if you need a little pep talk.

I recently talked with a Ford mechanic and he said the only programmer that Ford could not tell if it had been used was the Edge? For some reason the other scrambled the factory code and didn't actually put it back to the exact stock code? Not sure if was right after reading the above posts. Maybe Jody at DP Tuner would know?

I am about to take it in to have them check and maybe replace the cps and I was going to leave the intake system on to see what they say. I will cycle the programer out and like I said, I bought it used, the other owner first put on the programer.
I also can not see how they can clam that an inlarged exhaust system could void it, the stock exhaust system is not covered to 100k.
I like a good fight sometimes anyway!
