Replacing Syncros
I did a search and came up with nothing, I was wondering how hard it is to replace the syncros in a 1992 f150 with the mazda 5 speed. The grinding has been getting progressivly worse when shifting from 2nd into 3rd it dosen't do it all the time about 80%. 4th to 3rd is fine. Or could it be something else?

It could possibly be the clutch teeth on the gear as well, but not too likely. Replacing the synchros are really really easy. You may need access to a press in order to get one of the bearings off, but after that it is smooth sailing.

For now jsut rev match and double clutch. The synchros in my t-18 in the 150 are gone. Before thr truck burnt down alst week I only used the clutch for first gear. Many people who drive trannys that didn't even come with synchros do that. That's how I drove my Falcon too, whenever downshifting to first gear (no synchros in first on the cheaper 3 speeds) I just didn't use the clutch. Easier that way and no grinding.
I tell ya though, it'll be quite the luxury in this dang-fangled modern 250 that I picked up last week. Putting a ZF5 in there. That thing will be even more gay than driving an eXtra Luxurious Truck.
