I agree with the last poster.
Some of us here are crafty but guys like Fabman take it to a different level.
Maybe with a little help from guys like him the rest of us can follow......
When i first started posting here there was NO bio forum.
If you talked about bio in the 6.0 or 7.3 forums you were kinda treated as a hippy weirdo.
A few years later and boy how the winds of change have blown.
Now BIo-d is becoming more mainstream and people like Fabman who are helpful in sharing the know-how deserve some gratitude for the help.
I for one have looked extensively into diff. types of bio-d processors and i await fabman notes and drawings as my next project.
I figured you ran it on a farm, Im big into agriculture down here. No i dont have a farm or nething but i am in multiple AG classes, and i know what the struggles are. Its really unfortunate that we as americans are starting to depend more on other countries for fuel and food. American farmers, particularly rice farmers down in my neck of the woods, cant compete with countries like japan and china and all them other asian countries. It just costs too much to make so little you know! But neways, i think its great you are trying to run these *******s outta business, oil is what funds their dictator like tactics and it needs to stop. First it was bio, now E 85 ethanol, WHATS NEXT?? Oh and i disagree with the war thing, we need to be there to keep order. America is the leader of the world, and needs to defend not only herself but others too. Now get them out of IRAQ and send em to Israel where they are needed the most, it is after all our own fault that there is war there!
I also agree with fabman, and any fuel I can not buy from the middle east is a good thing, but for those that are intrested in this I have a second and equally important reason for starting to brew my own and that is the life of my engine. I run a 2000 7.3 PSD (I don't farm anymore do to having to sell the farm 6 yrs ago do to family problems IE divorce) and with the problems with the 6.0 had at the start and the fact I am not impressed with the new EPA mandated engines I have no intention of trading for a newer verhicle for as long as I can get away with it (expecially at 40k+ for another new one) and since EPA has mandated the low sulfar diesel which means that there won't be enough lubrication for the injectors, and exhaust valves as my engine was not engineered for this low of a sulfar content I need something that will keep my engine lubricated so I am not replacing $250/ea injectors all the time or worrying about my engine.
FABMANDELUX, people like you make America great. Thanks for your efforts.
Now you guys did it! I've been gone most of the week "consulting" so I had my wife of 35 years check my emails for me and she came across this thread.........Now she says I'm going to be even harder to live with and she'll have to get me a bigger hat!
Really guys I'm just a welder, but thanks for the thumbs up
I've worked with some of the stupidist engineers on the planet and its made me seek other ways to do things, and I'm never really happy with going along with the "herd".
I think that one of the things that makes America so great is our drive to make things better for everyone.
I am a student here at OIT in Klamath Falls Oregon, and I am studying Mechanical engineering technology (the hands on stuff). Ever since I have heard about Bio and WVO, that is all I think about. I have even though of duel majors Mechanical and alternative fuels (I will probably do both). It is posts like these that help me in my understanding of Bio and WVO. I would eventually like to build system this summer for for truck, the environment, savings, and most of all the education. I read as much as I can about Bio and WVO so I determine the best and if I can make the process simpler.
I would like to say thanks to all who post, this all inspires me all the more to understand and devise ways if simplifying it all. I await plans while making my own.
Thanks again to all, this is and inspiration to me.
See post #11 this thread.............[QUOTE=fabmandelux]
......I have had such a responce to what I have built that I'm working on a parts list and print's of the equipment so that others may build one if they choose. I'm also documenting everything on video.
Enough of my rant........as to cost, when I've finished with my parts list and drawings I will post them for all to see at no cost.
I have seen you say this several times and always wanted to say what a awesome offer that is, just never got around to posting it. We need more people like this in the world. I look forward to the info. Thanks again!
Hi guys, Just a quick update. I posted picks of my new WVO cleaner in my gallery under New Plant. This new unit will allow me to dump the oil cubes 2 at a time with air.....or pump in bulk oil and clean all the "crap" out of it before it goes into the new 500 gal main heating tank. It has a 3 chamber oil/water separator at the oil discharge end then goes into a half-horse pump which goes into the main heating tank. The cleaner and main tank should be finished next week, then I have to finish the Hydrocyclone and I'm ready to process 500 gal per day. Anybody got an extra 5,000 gal per mo?
